Resize to an exact width
Type a width or pick a preset. The height follows automatically so the picture isn’t stretched. Each frame is resampled with your browser’s high-quality image smoothing and then re-encoded with a fresh color palette, which keeps small GIFs crisp.
Crop to a different shape
When a layout or platform calls for a particular shape, Crop to trims the GIF to that shape around its center before resizing:

Resizing vs compressing
Resizing is about the dimensions you need. If your goal is just a smaller file, the GIF compressor also lets you drop frames and colors and shows how much you saved. To build a GIF at the right size from the start, use video to GIF or the GIF maker.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an animated GIF without losing the animation?
Open the GIF, set the new width (or tap a preset) and press Resize GIF. Every frame is resized and the frame timing is kept, so the animation plays exactly as before.
Can I crop a GIF to a square?
Yes. Choose Square 1:1 under Crop to. The crop is centered, and the width you set applies to the cropped result.
Can I make a GIF bigger?
Yes, up to 1,280 px wide. Enlarging can't add detail, so an upscaled GIF looks softer, and it will be a larger file.
Does resizing keep transparency and looping?
Transparency is kept automatically. Looping is on by default; untick Loop forever if you want the GIF to play once.
Is my GIF uploaded?
No. It is decoded, resized and re-encoded on your device.
