About WebMtoGIF.com

WebMtoGIF.com is a small set of free tools for making and fixing animated GIFs: WebM to GIF, MP4 to GIF, video and screen recordings to GIF, a GIF maker for images, a GIF compressor and a GIF resizer.

How the tools are built

• Nothing is uploaded. Videos are decoded by your own browser, and GIFs are encoded on your device in a background worker. There is no server-side processing at all.
• You stay in control. Every setting that affects size and quality is visible, with a frame count and size estimate before you start and a progress bar with Cancel while it runs.
• Clear limits. Browsers have finite memory, so the tools cap output at 1,500 frames and 1,280 px wide and tell you why instead of freezing.
• Open-source building blocks. GIF encoding uses the MIT-licensed gifenc library and GIF decoding uses the MIT-licensed gifuct-js. The converter and its frame timing, sizing and optimization logic are covered by automated tests.
